A lot has happened in the past few days! It’s all go just before filming starts and we have been preparing by making sure all our paperwork is in order.
Firstly, all of our locations were confirmed and this included the new addition for the girls bedroom in Angela’s house. It looks extremely suitable and it is highly furnished with lots of soft materials that will absorb sound. This is perfect for us as it almost gives the effect of a studio booth and we will be able to apply the reverb to represent a much grander house later. The only issue is that it is very small so fitting the entire cast and crew in the same room might be very difficult. However, due to the nature of the scene and the acoustic qualities of the room the demands should not be too challenging. Other Locations that were confirmed included, West Common Park, Richmond Road and 3 Temple Gardens. The scene at West common may prove problematic as it is outside but hopefully we can record some good audio and the worst case scenario is that ADR will have to be enforced.
Next, an official shooting schedule was released which provided us with the exact details, scene by scene of what was happening each day. It also provided us with time schedules, actors required and props. This helps me and my audio colleagues as the props used give us an insight of what foley and spot effects may be required later on. It also provides a far greater overview which will be helpful to look over when we are unsure of the details on a specific day.

Finally, before we start filming we were required to sign a copyright release form. This was important as it provided the media group the knowledge that we are willing to hand over all our resources to them free of copyright. This means that if the film is successful it can be entered into festivals without them having to worry about licensed music and sound files. It is also prominent for us as there is a declaration in the file that states that Luke, Ben and I are the owners of the copyrighted material so it also protects us from copyright in the future.
